“Khabar” to Become Associate Member of European Broadcasting Union, Says A.Ukibayev

In 2015, the Agency "Khabar" celebrates the 20th anniversary. During this time, it has passed a long way from the small channel to the major player in the media market of Kazakhstan. One of the important results of this work is the international recognition of the Agency.

So, from January 1, 2016, “Khabar” will become an associate member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). This was said by the Chairman of the Board of “Agency “Khabar” JSC Aidos Ukibayev during the press conference in Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan.

“This opens up access to certain privileges, such as, for example, discounts on certain media products. The next step will be the transition to the full member of the European Broadcasting Union,” said the speaker.

Recall, the EBU - the largest association of national broadcasters in the world. At present, the organization consists of 72 companies from 56 countries of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The EBU is an organizer of annual competitions, such as Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision, Dance Eurovision. Therefore, full membership in the Union will open for Kazakhstani singers the way to authoritative song contest.
