library of Kazakhstan”, “Universal dictionary of the Kazakh language” projects
and with a number of the other projects, “WikiBilim” Fund informs.
“The projects of “WikiBilim” Fund implemented under the auspices of Head of the Executive Office of the President of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov were presented within the Worlddidac 2013 exhibition in Astana,” the statement of the Fund reads.
“Kazaksha Wikipedia”, “Open library of Kazakhstan”, “Universal dictionary of the Kazakh language”, “Audio book of Kazakh literature” projects, lectures of TED conferences were presented at the exhibition.
“Thanks to the support of the state, the number of articles in the Kazakh language in Wikipedia was increased to 200 thousand. As a result, the number of monthly viewed pages of the Kazakh version of Wikipedia reached 10 million,” the Fund informs.
The statement reads that the audience of the “Open library of Kazakhstan” project is gradually growing. Daily, about two thousand users visit the portal. Besides, the online library includes audio books by famous authors.
Moreover, the mobile version of the website and mobile applications for the Kazakh version of Wikipedia and the universal dictionary for iOS were presented within the framework of the exhibition.
“WikiBilim” Fund works on foundation of a school version of “Wiki” and “TED” clubs for using these platforms for educational purposes on the initiative of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
The exhibition will last till April 11, 2013. People wishing to familiarize with the projects may visit the event in “Korme” exhibition center in Astana.
