A third of industrial injuries occurred due to gross negligence of the victims themselves - analysis of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan

Last year, 1,467 people were injured at the country's enterprises, of which 200 people died. During the three months of the current year, 313 people were injured at the enterprises of the country, 47 of them died. The analysis of industrial injuries was voiced by the Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Social Protection and Migration of the ministry, Yerbol Nurgaliyev

“The main reasons that led to accidents were in 36% - gross negligence of the victims themselves; 24% - unsatisfactory organization of labor production and works; many cases occur due to road accidents, that is, when workers were taken to their place of work. At the same time, a high level of injuries remains in the industrial regions of the country: Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar regions. Despite the overall decrease in occupational injuries in the country, there was an increase in a number of regions: in Aktobe, Atyrau, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda regions. The reasons are different, emanating from the attitude to the basics of creating safe working conditions for both the employer and employees,” the speaker noted.
