During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation in the energy sector, including the expansion of cooperation on uranium mining projects.
Thus, the interest of the Russian side in further investment in the uranium mining industry of Kazakhstan in order to strengthen the energy security of the two countries was noted.

Following the meeting, Alikhan Smailov and Alexei Likhachev confirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation for the successful implementation of existing projects and to discuss new areas of mutually beneficial partnership.
