“At the regional level, it is proposed to coordinate the candidacies of akims by maslikhats, that is, all maslikhats of the regions, including districts, cities of district and regional significance, will choose the akim from the submitted candidates. They may or may not agree. In fact, here we are talking about reducing the existing powers of the President. At this stage, this approach seems to be the most democratically optimal in terms of building public administration,” the speaker noted.

 She also recalled that the population of the country can vote for these amendments or vote against them.

“If they vote “FOR”, then the presented model of changes will work. If the people vote "AGAINST", then the amendments will not be accepted, and the current model will remain. The choice is up to the citizens of the country,” the expert summed up.
