During the festival, foreign and domestic film schools will exchange experience - film critic

Today will be the second day of the III International Student Film Festival "Tomiris". The event is attended by 53 films, 7 of which are foreign. The difference of this festival from others lies in the fact that film schools, universities that train film specialists themselves select films and send them to two competitions. Two groups of the jury watch the movie and give their assessment. This was stated at the site of the Central Communications Service by film critic, candidate of art criticism Nazira Mukusheva.

“The organizer of the festival is the team of the Kazakh National University of Arts. The history of the festival did not begin today. It started in 2018 as the festival "Ushkyn". This year, its name and direction has changed. A spark ignited a flame. And so the festival firmly stood on its feet, transformed. The festival consists of two competitions. This practice is found all over the world. Our difference lies in the fact that films are sent by film schools themselves. Firstly, it is good for the youth themselves. They do not fight among themselves, but have the opportunity to watch and study the work of foreign film schools. That is, there is an exchange of experience between foreign and domestic film schools. It seems to me that this is very important for student youth, ”said the film critic.
