On may 16-17, "the XII Astana economic forum-Inspiring Growth: The People, The City, The Economy," will be held in Nur Sultan:

Within two days, global leaders and leading international experts will come together to discuss the most important problems of the world economy and develop recommendations for their solution for Kazakhstan.

Yerlik Karazhan, Chairman of the Board of "Institute of economic research" JSC, Ruslan Zhemkov, managing Director of "NC "Astana EXPO-2017" JSC , Aibol Argyngazinov, Director of the Center for analysis and world economy of "Institute of economic research" JSC told about the event at a press conference in the CCS. "The agenda of the Forum includes discussion of key issues of the world economy, development of new industries and technologies, as well as global challenges Kazakhstan and other countries are facing. The participants of the event will discuss new ways of sustainable growth, human capital development and strengthening the potential of cities as international centers of knowledge and innovation," Yerlik Karazhan informed.

According to Ruslan Zhemkov, the AEF events are traditionally held in the formats of panel sessions, round tables, conferences and business dialogues. "In total, the forum is scheduled for about 50 sessions.

The most important events at the site of the XII Astana economic forum will be sessions with the participation of the country's leadership, the international conference in honor of the 100th anniversary of the international labour organization (ILO) to study and discuss the report of the global Commission on the future of labor, the interim meeting on the preparation of the 12th Ministerial conference of the world trade organization (WTO Supreme body) in 2020, the first Kazakhstan forum on sustainable development goals under the auspices of the UN, the strategic session with the participation of the world intellectual elite and the government of Kazakhstan under the auspices of the International Secretariat of G-Global, round table of Finance Ministers and heads of Central banks of the Caucasus and Central Asia, member States of the Eurasian economic Union and Mongolia," R. Zhemkov said.

Ruslan Zhemkov informed that this year AEF-2019, which will be held at the EXPO Congress center and Hilton Astana, will be attended by about 5 thousand people. Half of them are foreign delegates from 100 countries. Among the international guests who have confirmed their participation to date: Paul Romer, the Nobel prize in Economics in 2018, chief economist of the world Bank (2016-2018), Christine Lagarde, managing Director of the International monetary Fund, Stanley Fischer, Vice Chairman of the US Federal reserve (2014-2017), Rae Kwon Chung, winner of the Nobel peace prize 2007, honorary Professor of the state University of Inchon (Republic of Korea), Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokia, the founder of F-Secure Corporation, German Gref, President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia, Armida Alisjahbana, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Executive Secretary of the Economic and social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). "The participation of such well-known politicians and experts in the AEF 2019 is an indicator of not only the growing interest in the event itself, but also a symbol of readiness for open dialogue and mutual cooperation.
