Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Sultan Kamaletdinov, informed military diplomats about a large-scale political modernization program initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

He announced the forthcoming republican referendum on amendments to the Constitution, which will be held in the country on June 5, of this year.

Touching upon the issues of Kazakhstan's foreign policy, Lieutenant-General Sultan Kamaletdinov noted its constructive, balanced nature, aimed at friendly relations with all states.

- The military doctrine of our country is exclusively defensive, and in matters of protecting national interests, we rely on diplomacy, - said the Deputy Minister of Defense.

During the briefing, it was also noted that the reform of the Armed Forces is aimed at increasing the combat capability and combat readiness of the troops, the prestige of military service and social support for military personnel, equipping the troops with modern and high-tech weapons and military equipment.

Corresponding areas of activity of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan were highlighted in their speeches by representatives of the departments of strategic development, international cooperation and combat training.
