During the meeting, the Minister noted that today one of the topical environmental issues for Kazakhstan is waste disposal. A lot of work is being done in this direction, the waste management system is being modernized to move towards rational models of production and consumption. For about six years now, the State Cadastre of Production and Consumption Waste has been operating in the Unified Information System for Environmental Protection. It can be said with confidence that more than 70% of the country's population is provided with waste collection and disposal services.

For example, last year, together with the Akimat of the Akmola region, a Roadmap was approved, where a French company is participating to introduce a system for the separate collection and processing of organic waste in the Akkol district of the Akmola region.

S. Brekeshev also noted the potential of the French side in the development of the geological industry: “We are interested in developing cooperation between our geological services in terms of increasing the geological and geophysical knowledge and identifying promising areas, developing the infrastructure of the geological industry, as well as digitalization and automation of subsoil use processes.”

The parties also discussed issues of rational use of water resources and holding consultations regarding the development of a new Water Code.
