Over the past 3 years in the manufacturing industry the volume of investments in fixed assets has almost doubled - 184%.

The akim of the Kyzylorda region, Krymbek Kusherbayev, told about this at a press conference in the Central Communications Service.

“In the region over the past 3 years in the manufacturing industry, the volume of investments in fixed assets has almost doubled - 184%, the number of employed - by more than 55%, labor productivity - by 18%, and gross value added - by 31%” - informed K. Kusherbayev.

According to the mayor, the main task for the region is still the diversification of the economy through the development of the non-primary sector.

"Already in December, we will prematurely introduce a cementing cement plant, which is implemented as part of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation program. Literally, on October 26 we laid a time capsule, thus starting the construction of a mining and processing plant at the Shalkiya lead-zinc deposit. In the year, we expected to introduce a glass factory, but unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the commissioning of the plant was postponed to 2019 due to issues arising between the founders, ”the head of the region said.

In addition, in 2019 it is planned to build plants for the processing of salt and for the production of soda ash.

At the same time, as Akim notes, rice-growing still remains the leading branch of the agro-industrial complex of the region. In spite of the fact that the year was difficult due to low water and cold spring, this year nevertheless, a good harvest of rice was harvested - 473 thousand tons (54.5 c / ha).

Along with this, Krymbek Kusherbayev stressed that the positive trends in the economy have allowed for almost 2 years to keep the unemployment rate at around 4.8%. This, according to the mayor, today is even slightly lower than the national average.

"All these years, despite the economic difficulties, we managed not only to prevent massive cuts in workers from enterprises, but also to create over 68,000 new jobs over the past 6 years," the regional akim shared.
