The fifth WorldSkills Hi-Tech Championship gathered 597 contestants and more than 450 experienced Russian and foreign expert masters, ortcom.kz reports citing sknews.kz.

WorldSkills Hi-Tech was held at the Ekaterinburg-EXPO international exhibition center. The company Kazakhtelecom was represented by the team of the technical hub of local networks of the city of Astana, the central RTD, the cable welders Miyat Asan and Olzhas Umerbekov. The guys took the honorable second place in the nomination “Main communication lines. Construction and operation of the FOL”, second only to the owners of the championship - colleagues from Rostelecom.

“Our victory confirmed the high qualification level of specialists of Kazakhtelecom JSC. In addition, the guys had the opportunity to exchange experience with the best specialists of international level, which also helps to stimulate employees' motivation for professional growth,” said Alexandertek Lezgovko.

According to the competition regulations, each participant, in the established control time, had to demonstrate excellent professional knowledge and skills: the ability to navigate complex circuits, use modern measuring equipment, safety knowledge.

The competitive task was very difficult, for example, it was necessary to determine 60 points of welding at an optical length of six kilometers using the device. We got decent, experienced rivals. The equipment used in the competitive task, although similar to , which is used on the network of Kazakhtelecom JSC, but it has its own design features. The National Championship of cross-cutting working professions in high-tech industries according to the WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2018 methodology gathered 597 contestants and more than 450 experienced Russian and foreign expert masters. For the first time, Eurasian competitions were held as part of WorldSkills Hi-Tech. 65 foreign participants from 8 countries of the world, including Belarus, Brazil, Great Britain, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, took part in competitions in professional skills in 23 competencies.
