“As part of the further intensification of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare, as well as a successful indicator of our partnerships, today's signing of an Agreement on cooperation on the construction of a second pharmaceutical plant in Almaty serves,” A. Giniyat said during the meeting.

She recalled that this year marks exactly 20 years since the founding of the joint Kazakh plant of JSC “Nobel AFF” for the production of pharmaceutical products.

Nobel Ilac plans to invest an additional $55 million to modernize and expand its existing production facilities, as well as to build a second pharmaceutical plant in Almaty to produce sachets and high-tech biosimilars. Currently, the design and estimate documentation and feasibility study of the project are being developed, which are planned to be completed by the end of the first half of 2022 and to begin the phased implementation of the project with full completion in December 2025.

During the visit, Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat signed a bilateral agreement on the production of pharmaceuticals in Almaty with the head of the company of the same name, Zeynep Atabay.

According to the minister, this enterprise will allow developing the domestic production of original medicines and medical devices, increasing the export potential of domestic pharmaceutical products, as well as increasing scientific and human resources, etc.

As part of the signed Agreement, ATABAY KİMYA SANAYİ TİCARET intends to invest 10 million US dollars in the construction of the plant, the project implementation period is until the end of 2023, the number of new jobs will be 200.

During the signing of the document, the parties noted the importance of developing Kazakh-Turkish cooperation both in the pharmaceutical industry and in all other areas of healthcare.
