In his speech, the head of the relevant department noted that to date, Kazakhstan has lifted all restrictions on entry into the country by air, including for citizens of 74 countries who have the right to visa-free entry. International air routes have been resumed and in operation. For example, additional flights to 5 cities of Uzbekistan have been resumed and organized. The list of countries whose vaccination passports are recognized by the Republic of Kazakhstan has been significantly expanded. These are 33 states, including India, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Separately, Dauren Abayev stressed on the issue of forming a single SCO tourism brand.

“As an example, we can use the experience of a single stand of the countries of Central Asia, which is planned to be organized this year at the JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2022 in Japan. In addition, to promote the potential of the SCO member states, Kazakhstan can offer venues in the form of annual international tourism exhibitions,” he added.

According to the minister, due to the diversity of nature, landscape and geographical location, Kazakhstan can offer different types of cross-border tourism: both mountain tourism in the Tien Shan and Altai Mountains, and cruise on the Caspian Sea, as well as on the historical segment of the Great Silk Road.

“With the SCO countries, we already have all the necessary legal framework. To date, there are 11 intergovernmental agreements and memorandums governing bilateral relations in the tourism sector of our countries,” the minister stressed.

Summing up his speech, Dauren Abayev stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to implement joint projects with the SCO member countries. For example, this is the promotion of the cross-border tourist route "The Great Silk Road" and cross-border sea cruises in the Caspian Sea.
