The Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azhar Giniyat held a meeting with the Minister of Health of India and the Vice Minister of Health of the Russian Federation to discuss further multilateral cooperation.
Also, the head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with the Group of Friends of Universal Health Coverage - the Ministers of Health of Indonesia, Japan, Georgia and others. As a result, an agreement was reached on the joint promotion of the Astana Declaration on PHC, adopted by more than 150 countries in 2018 in Kazakhstan, and the intensification of multilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.
The head of the department took part in the meeting of the ministers of health of the Central Asian countries with the Regional Director of the EuroWHO Hans Kluge, where she congratulated the participants on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations and stressed the importance of joining efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in our countries. A. Giniyat supported the need to develop a Roadmap to support health and well-being in Central Asia until 2025 with mandatory investment in the health system, including PHC.
During the meeting with the Head of the Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, Adriana Blanco Marchiso, the minister informed about the work being done to prevent tobacco smoking and invited her to Kazakhstan to discuss a further tobacco control strategy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
