In his address, the Head of State focused on topical issues on the world agenda. According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the situation with COVID-19 and the events in Ukraine have caused the fragmentation of the global economy, which is facing a new geopolitical stress test on the Eurasian continent.

The President spoke about the measures taken by the state in the framework of combating the consequences of the pandemic to improve the healthcare system, support small and medium-sized businesses and infrastructure projects.

In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed the forum participants in detail about the large-scale political and economic reforms being carried out in the country and preparations for the upcoming republican referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution.

The head of state noted that Kazakhstan is committed to the implementation of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) goals. He stated that our country remains a reliable partner in ensuring continuous supply chains of goods, raw materials and agricultural products to world markets.

“The development of a green economy, energy efficiency and the development of the renewable energy sector will be the priorities of our Low Carbon Development Strategy, which will provide an optimal path to zero emissions by 2060,” the President of Kazakhstan noted.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed Kazakhstan's commitment to international obligations and universal principles in the field of human rights and the rule of law.
