The event was attended by Deputy Akim of the city of Aktau Abilkair Baipakov, deputies of the regional and city maslikhats, public and state figures, as well as KIOR experts.

The moderator was Samat Nurtaza, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of KIOR.

“The upcoming referendum shows that the country is undergoing democratization and liberalization of the entire system. This is a chance for change. The Head of State consults with the population, offers to share responsibility and wants to hear feedback from the population. We are invited to choose liberalism, democracy, freedom and, most importantly, justice,” he said, voicing the agenda of the meeting.

The deputy akim of the city of Aktau Abilkair Baipakov made a welcoming speech:

“The constitutional reform is aimed at a comprehensive transformation of the entire state model. We all care about the fate of our country. The decisions we make will determine the future of Kazakhstan. It is important to express your civic position and take part in the historical choice.”

Deputy of the Mangistau regional maslikhat Abbat Urisbaev urged to support the initiative of the President, noting that the changes are taking place in response to the voice of the people.

“Getting together at such meetings, we must submit our proposals and proposals of the people by June 5. We see that the majority of the population supports the amendments to the Constitution, but since the voice of every citizen is important, it is necessary to strengthen the work on informing,” the deputy summed up.

According to the results of the latest sociological survey, more than 72% of the population supported the referendum. This was stated by KIOR expert Zhaksybek Zhienaliev.

“This is a good indicator, there is a high political activity of our citizens. In Kazakhstan, more than 11 million people can take part in the republican referendum, most of them are young people. That is, for the first time many Kazakhstanis will make their choice and contribute to our country becoming a fair and developed state. It can be said with full confidence that the constitutional reform, carried out through a referendum, will increase the chances of citizens to participate in the government of the country,” said the KIOR expert.

Recall that the republican referendum on amendments to the Constitution will be held in Kazakhstan on June 5 this year.
