At the Astana Digital Forum, during the panel discussion “Digital Kazakhstan: how to find a niche in the digital economy?”, Chairman of the Board of Astana Innovations JSC Olzhas Sartayev spoke to journalists and forum participants that smart cities in Kazakhstan should be based on Astana.

“Last year we adopted the concept of Smart Astana. It is adopted on the basis of the Colombian concept. For each direction there is a list of projects. Some of them have already been implemented, some are underway, ”said Olzhas Sartayev.

Smart Astana mobile application
“We have updated the Smart Astana application. The main slogan of the work is defined as "The whole city in your smartphone." This application as a universal technology brand of our city. With its help, residents can get about 60 services, more than 10 commercial services are integrated here, such as searching for specialists, searching for vacancies, food delivery, etc., there is a possibility to notify citizens of Astana, ”the speaker described the application. He noted that there are about 140 thousand downloads.

E-KSK project
“All KSKs are connected to this system. It allows for the processing of applications, publication of reports, news, notifications, monitoring of the activities of KSK, etc. and created to manage the relations between our residents and the city KSK, ”explained Olzhas Sartayev.

The Big Data project — an information system that analyzes large data systems — allows forecasting and modeling of future situations.
“This is a 100% Kazakhstan product. We have combined more than 45 data sources from government organizations and data from commercial services, a base of city residents, legal entities and individuals, transport, address register, land plots, announcements of sale and purchase, and others. The system allows you to automatically identify registered residents, the number of apartments in the house, living in the house, problems and comfort of the territory, the criminality of the area, determine the social status of residents, identify self-employed people, etc., ”said the Chairman of the Board of Astana Innovations JSC.

Open Data Project.
"Portal is working in test mode. This is a database from various areas of the city of Astana. Today there is access to 11 open data sets: education, health care, housing and public utilities - service 109, transport, obtaining statistical information, crime rates and traffic accidents, on the environment, various news and events that take place in the city, ”said the speaker.

“A database of all that is in the city is being formed, starting from social facilities - schools, hospitals, clinics, continuing with residential buildings, transport infrastructure, roads, etc. All data is collected and transferred to one format, and then transferred to a single card. This will determine what and where to do it. The implementation of this system will limit the human factor, automates the process. It will give an opportunity to determine the most investment-attractive zones of the city, ”explained the speaker.

Smart education.
“One of the tasks is the introduction of enrollment of children in kindergarten, school. The issuance of referrals to preschool organizations has already been automated. In 2017, over 26 thousand referrals to kindergarten were issued. The Kundelik system has been introduced in schools, ”Olzhas Sartayev informed.

Healthcare. All metropolitan clinics are automated, the level of computer equipment is 100%, ”he said.

In Astana, we chose the district Youth. We test all sorts of technology. If they prove expediency, then they will be introduced to other parts of the city. Smart meters, smart intercoms, a stopping point - a warm stop were installed in residential buildings, buses can be seen in real time and a taxi, a smart pedestrian, an automatic barrier, a smart yard, new garbage cans, a separate garbage collection point were installed, ” said the speaker.
