The Minister of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dauren Abaev, opened a major media event in Central Asia - Astana Media Week, ortcom.kz reports citing MIA Kazinform.
More than 2 thousand guests gathered in the Kazmedia center building, including 60 top managers of the media industry in Kazakhstan and abroad and over 50 production companies.
“Having become traditional, this event gathers professionals from the field who are ready for a constructive dialogue on the widest range of issues. Today, the sphere of mass communications is one of the most important components of social development. Every day your ideas change not only the information landscape, but also give impetus to the processes in various industries - from politics to finance, from agriculture to sports. Against this background, the importance of a broad discussion of pressing problems, the development of specific solutions and mechanisms for further work increases significantly. For this purpose, Astana Media Week gathers not only journalists and representatives of state bodies, but also PR communities, as well as foreign specialists, ”the minister said at the opening of the event.
Dauren Abaev reminded that a year ago on the fields of Astana Media Week the first content market in the country was held. This year, within the content market, stands of 18 republican and regional TV channels will be on display, and representatives from Belarus, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan will take part. In addition, the minister noted, the forum has become an effective platform for representatives of local media to discuss problematic issues, exchange experiences and gain skills. Astana Media Week will last three days - from 26 to 28 September. These days it is planned to hold an exhibition of a content market, a regional media forum, the Astana Digital Forum.
