Olympic champion, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev became a participant in a pilot project on attracting native speakers to teach rural students English.
The athlete and now public figure Serik Sapiyev told about this at a press conference in the CCS.
“I’ll say right away that I’m not going to train directly for two months - this is the whole period in which volunteers and teachers in our regional centers will be. I, probably, when I come, I will motivate them more by my example. I taught English for about a year, so I will be more like an ambassador, as a motivator of our children, and I think that I will bring benefits. And teachers will be directly trained to learn the language, ”said the athlete.
Serik Sapiyev noted that he is very pleased to participate in this project.
“I am a member of the Bolashak Association, a member of the NurOtan party, and I am also glad to participate in this project. This is a very large-scale project going in 14 regions of the country. I myself come from the district center, and I know very well how much the arrival of the same foreigners, some famous personalities influences the motivation of the younger generation and contributes to the desire of young people for further action. Just like in sports, languages need to be learned from childhood, ”the Olympic champion said.
He also stressed that each of the participants wants to make a big contribution to the initiative and wished success to the project.
