From September to November 2018, Olympic champion, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev, among 28 native speakers and over 140 domestic specialists, will go to the regions to teach English to students in grades 9-11.
“I support the initiative of the MK Zhas Otan of the Nur Otan Party, the Bolashak Association, and I also wish to make a contribution to the implementation of this project. As a member of the Bolashak Association, I am pleased to take part in the “English for Jastar” social project. I plan to spend free time studying with our students and transfer the knowledge and experience gained to the teenage generation of our country. I also come from the village, and in due time I realized that knowledge of the English language would contribute to the achievement of my goals. I am sure that this project will increase the motivation of rural schoolchildren to learn English, with the understanding that much more effort is required to successfully master the language. Therefore, in the sense of learning a foreign language, it is more correct to compare it with a big sport, and what do you need to train a champion? That's right, start training from an early age! ”Said Serik Sapiyev.
He referred to his experience, noting that the difference in the assimilation of material by today's children is amazing. Serik Sapiyev also shared the details of the conditions and criteria for the selection of participants. The specialist must be at least 20 years old, speak English at a level no lower than Upper – Intermediate, have pedagogical experience and experience working with children, have no problems with the legislation of their country and provide health certificates.
