Pupils of rural schools will be taught English by native speakers.

The launch and implementation of a pilot project to attract native speakers to teach English to the schoolchildren of the countryside “English for Jastar” has begun. The project will operate in pilot mode for two months in 14 regions of Kazakhstan.

This was announced at the press conference in the CCS, said Daniyar Sundetbayev, chairman of the Zhas Otan party, Nur Otan party, Daulet Karibek, executive secretary of the Zhas Otan party, Laura Demesinova, executive director of the Bolashak Association, Olympic champion, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a project participant Serik Sapiyev and a project participant from the USA Kenneth Caleb Palmer.

“Elbasy noted that in-depth study of the English language is a global trend. Our activity with our project partner the Association "Bolashak" is aimed at educating highly educated, competitive youth. Therefore, in the framework of the youth political camp “Zhastar-Otankha!” We launched the project “English for Jastar”, said Daniyar Sundetbayev.

Executive Secretary of MK "Zhas Otan" at the party "Nur Otan" Daulet Karibek noted that the main goal of the project is to help students improve their English and improve their communication skills. “The project covers 7,000 students in 84 villages. At the moment, 141 domestic specialists who speak English at an advanced level are involved in the project implementation, ”he said.

According to the executive director of the Bolashak Association, Laura Demesinova, 28 native speakers and over 140 domestic specialists, including the Olympic champion, member of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Serik Sapiyev, will go to teach students of 9-11 classes of English from September to November 2018.

“The project's working group carefully considered recruiting foreign volunteers to attract the project. Each of them was interviewed via video link, presented the necessary documents confirming his higher education, experience in teaching English, working with children, as well as health certificates and non-involvement in offenses, ”Laura Demesinova said.

The speaker also added that classes with foreign volunteers will be held only in extra time and will not interfere with the basic educational process of schoolchildren.

Recall, the organizers of the project are the Youth Wing “Zhas Otan” at the party “Nur Otan” and the Association “Bolashak”.

Academic support for the project has been provided by the Interpress Language Center; it is their textbooks, Solutions, published by Oxford University Press (England) that schoolchildren will additionally study.
