Vice-Minister of Culture and Sports Aktoty Raimkulov praised the victory of our compatriots Samal Yeslyamova and Emir Baygazin at prestigious international film festivals.
“Samal Yeslyamova won the Grand Prix“ For the Best Actress ”at the Cannes Film Festival and became the first actress in the post-Soviet and Asian space, honoring such a high award. Of course, this is a huge success, which caused a huge interest of the world community to our Samal and to Kazakhstan as a whole.
The grand event of this year was the award For Best Direction of the Kazakh director Emir Baigazin at the prestigious 75th Venice International Film Festival for the film River in the section Horizons, commissioned by the Ministry. It should be noted here that in the history of Kazakhstani cinema, this is the first award of such a high world level in the field of direction! ”, Aktoty Raimkulova emphasized.
According to her, the participation of Kazakhstani directors, their victories in international festivals of class "A" is always a great opportunity to adequately present Kazakhstan and Kazakhstani cinema at a high international level.
