A global conference on primary health care will be held on October 25-26, 2018 in Astana, where the countries of the world will adopt a new WHO PHC declaration.
The Global Conference on PHC is organized by three parties: the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the government of Kazakhstan. Delegations from over 120 WHO member countries are invited to attend, including the ministers of health, world-renowned experts, patrons and speakers, key nongovernmental organizations, and the first heads of UN agencies.
During the press conference, the Assistant Director-General of WHO, Dr. Naoko Yamamoto told how to form anthropocentric medicine, that is, to move on to the treatment of the person himself.
“The issue of the quality of medical services is a patient for all countries. I am also a doctor by training, by training. Therefore, it is not always easy to achieve the full quality of medical services. The question is better to put like this. How to make medicine anthropocentric. From the word "anthropos" - man. How can you create the necessary nutritional environment for people to participate in making decisions about their health? So that people take part in the development of health policy, its implementation and monitoring. Therefore, I believe that it is necessary to seek partnership with the population, with consumers. Of course, the quality of education, the quality of medical services is a very important aspect. Working with local communities is also a key issue in order to achieve the quality of local medical services. Finally, working with civil society is also a key issue. I believe that the government of Kazakhstan will bring young people to the first roles. This will mean that your government is thinking about the future, that it is looking forward and is building a promising policy for the future. Therefore, with the support of UNICEF, especially the next generation leaders will take part in the work of this conference in Astana in October 2018. These are representatives of the global society, these are the people who will make decisions about the quality of health services in the future, ”said Ms Yamamomto.
