A platform is being created for informatization and ensuring the interoperability of health information systems.
“In 2019, the Platform for informatization and interoperability of health information systems will be launched,” said the Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Olzhas Abishev at the Central Communications Service during the transition to the electronic format of medical services in Kazakhstan.
According to Olzhas Abishev, one of the fundamental principles of digitalization of healthcare is “patient-oriented”. To implement this principle, it is necessary to introduce an Electronic Health Passport. In this case, the patient's information will be stored in the Unified Repository of the Electronic Health Passport, which is part of the Platform, and will be available to both medical professionals and patients.
“Elements of FTE have already been introduced at the regional level. At the current date, the coverage of local FTEs in the republic is 79.3%, ”the vice minister said.
According to the vice minister, the integration platform is the main component of the new digital health architecture.
