“The number of especially grave (-5%), grave types of crimes (-17%), moderate (-8%) and low severity (-10%) has decreased. Less robberies were committed (-10%), hooliganism (-17%), thefts (-9%), and crimes in public places (-8%), incl. on the streets (-5%), previously convicted (-35%), intoxicated (-11%) and minors (-4%), ”said Kalmukhanbet Kasymov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at a press conference in the CCS.
At the same time, as the minister noted, thefts are still common. Their share is almost 70%.
According to the head of the ministry, the work of police and National Guard squads is being improved, their responsiveness to accidents is being increased, and innovative technologies are being actively introduced into the sphere of law enforcement.

The minister noted that with the support of local executive bodies, a video surveillance system is being developed in the streets of the cities, in crowded places.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that over the years of independence, for conscientious work, courage and dedication, 1,273 police officers and the National Guard were awarded state awards, 130 of them posthumously.
