In Kazakhstan, about 18 thousand drunk drivers were detained this year, of which more than 25.6 thousand drivers are deprived of the right to drive a car. Such figures were voiced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Kalmukhanbet Kasymov today at a press conference in the CCS.
“This year, 17.8 thousand“ drunk ”drivers were detained. In court, almost 25.6 thousand violators are deprived of their management rights, and 2,200 drivers are subject to administrative arrest, ”said K. Kasymov.
According to the minister, in the field of road safety, systems of photo-video recording of traffic violations and “intellectual” traffic control systems are being introduced.
“Everywhere now, with the support of akims, our police squads are provided with stationary and wearable video recorders. The benefits of all this are obvious. We are moving from visual observation to the use of technical means of control, which exclude subjective assessments and conflict situations of road users ”,
- said K. Kasymov.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also emphasized that step-by-step police are equipped with personal computer tablets, with the help of which they are already promptly compiling protocols and collecting fines.
“We are introducing electronic administrative proceedings. The plates enable policemen to have access to the databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for on-site verification of offenders and their vehicles. Yet, despite the measures taken and rather tough administrative sanctions, the traffic discipline of road users remains low, ”the minister said.
