The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced a decrease in the crime rate in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year.

Interior Minister Kalmukhanbet Kasymov told reporters that the general criminogenic situation in the country is declining, but he noted that thefts are still very common. According to him, the number of particularly serious types of crimes, of medium and low severity, has decreased.

“The number of especially grave (-5%), grave types of crimes (-17%), moderate (-8%) and low severity (-10%) has decreased. Less robberies were committed (-10%), hooliganism (-17%), thefts (-9%), and crimes in public places (-8%), incl. on the streets (-5%), previously convicted (-35%), intoxicated (-11%) and minors (-4%). However, theft is still common. Their share is almost 70% ",

- the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kalmukhanbet Kasymov said during a press conference in the CCS.

At the same time, the minister noted that thefts are still very common.

According to Kasimov, criminogenic factors such as drunkenness, alcoholism, drug addiction, unemployment by work, studies, and dysfunctional relations in the family and domestic sphere continue to have a negative impact on the state of law and order in the country.
