Digitization will help avoid corruption and theft in the delivery of free drugs.

“The most important thing is that digitization will help us to systematically get rid of the issues of drug shortages (drugs) and corruption. Of course, and these problems were, we identified such facts. At the beginning of the year, when medicine was discovered that was written off but not given to patients. These data are now under consideration by law enforcement agencies, ”said the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov at a press conference in the Central Communications Service.

The Minister noted that today, there is already a rejection of some regions of almost 3.6 billion tenge from the previously announced and purchased volumes. Since they see that they are not claimed.

“We are very seriously working to ensure that free drugs do not fall into the retail network. For this, constant monitoring is needed, including with the participation of the population itself, ”he stressed.

Yelzhan Birtanov informed that such methods as SMS sending to receive free drugs are used as the implementation of the feedback mechanism.

“Now we have tested pilots. Starting next year, we want to introduce SMS alerts in order to know whether a person has received these medicines or not, ”the minister said.

According to the Minister of Health, the mobile application will also function, where functions will be provided in which a person can independently see his recipes and mark whether the medicine has been received by him.

“This will allow us to avoid the facts of theft of drugs or their incorrect write-offs,” the minister noted.
