Drugs to provide guaranteed free medical care accounted for 40% of the total drug market.

The total market of medicines in total in 2017 amounted to 458.6 billion tenge, of which 181.2 billion tenge, or 40%, is the purchase of medicines to provide guaranteed free medical care, financed from the republican and local budgets.

He noted that the system of free and preferential drug supply has been functioning in the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2005 within the framework of the State program of reforming and developing health care for 2005-2010. Financing was carried out at the expense of the republican budget (TTC) and local budgets.

Drug supply according to the List is carried out according to 49 nosologies with more than 400 names of medicines.
