“Regional akimat approved temperature schedules of heat networks. With an average outdoor temperature of +8 degrees for 3-5 days, the beginning of the heating season will be organized by the decision of the local executive body, ”said the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev in the Central Communications Service.

As the Minister stressed, the winter maximum of the electric load is planned at 14,800 megawatts, which is 185 megawatts more than last year.

“The maximum consumption of electric energy of the past heating season fell on January 28 of the current year and was at the level of 14,615 MW, which is a historical maximum in the power system of Kazakhstan,” he said.

The speaker also noted that the capacity of the country's power plants, taking into account the existing restrictions in the amount of 18,700 megawatts, allows it to confidently cover it with a margin of 4,000 megawatts.

“The system operator issued tasks for work in the following equipment: Ekibastuz GRES-1 - in five - six block modes, with content in the constant readiness for the operation of the backup power units; Ekibastuz GRES-2 - in two block mode; Aksuy GRES - in six - seven block mode; Zhambyl GRES - in two block mode. The Kapshagay and Moinak hydropower plants are in regulation mode, with a load of up to 180 and 300 megawatts, respectively, ”the speaker informed.

According to Kanat Bozumbayev, the assessment of the energy companies ’readiness to work in the autumn-winter period with the issuance of the appropriate readiness certificates, carried out by the Ministry of Energy and akimats will be completed before November 1.
