The preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter period are under the control of the Government. Information on preparations for the autumn-winter period twice a month is sent to the Government.

“The Unified Electric Power System of Kazakhstan operates stably, in parallel with the power systems of the Russian Federation and the countries of Central Asia. On the current date, the production of electricity in the Republic is 74 billion kWh, with consumption - 70 billion kWh, which is 6% higher than last year. The preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter period are under constant control of the Ministry of Energy and were considered twice in the Government ”,

- said the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev.

According to him, the issues of preparation for the heating period were considered at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on August 22 and at a conference call on August 27, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

According to Kanat Bozumbayev, to ensure the stable passage of the heating period of 2018-2019, a joint order of the Ministers of Energy and Investment and Development has set up a headquarters for monitoring the preparation, passage of the heating period, providing coal for power plants, the residential sector and the population. The staff included senior officials of ministries and akimats. In mid-August, within the framework of the work carried out, a conference call was held with areas for consideration and action on problematic issues.

As Kanat Bozumbayev noted, the Ministry of Energy on a daily basis provides monitoring of the preparation and progress of the autumn-winter period and the accumulation of the standard reserve of fuel at the country's power plants.

The Ministry of Investment and Development on a weekly basis provides monitoring of coal production and shipment from coal mining organizations, coal shipment to the household sector and the population, transportation of coal to power plants, utility companies and the population with measures to provide cars for coal loading according to applications.

In addition, the Ministry together with interested government agencies and national companies on a monthly basis holds industry selector meetings with all energy companies.
