To date, the technological equipment of the National Electric Grid is at the level of the world's leading power systems - elements of the smart power system have been introduced into the network.
“In the National Power Grid operated by KEGOC JSC - a high level of digital technologies introduction. The company has already introduced elements of the smart grid in the National Electric Grid. In particular, these are digital devices of relay protection and automation, dispatch control and data collection (SCADA), automated electricity metering system (AMR), 500 kV controlled shunt reactors, phase switching devices and fiber-optic communication channels, ”said the Chairman of the Board KEGOC JSC Bakytzhan Kazhiev.
According to him, continuing the system work on the introduction of digital technologies, KEGOC JSC began to implement the project “Automation of management of the modes of the Unified Electric Power System of Kazakhstan”, which was included in the State Program “Digital Kazakhstan”. “This project includes three components: a synchrophasor-based technology management system (WAMS / WACS). This system will increase the transmission of electricity through the existing network by increasing observability and introducing new network control algorithms in real time. Automation of frequency and power control (AFRC), which will ensure more efficient use of the capacity of domestic power plants and reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the Russian power system. And the centralized anti-emergency automation system (DSPA) - it will ensure a reduction in the volume of consumer disconnection in case of technological violations, ”said Bakytzhan Kazhiev.
