Maternal and infant mortality rates have decreased in Kazakhstan. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov announced this at a press conference in the CCS.
“As part of the implementation of the state program“ Densaulyk ”for 2016-2019. In the country, there have been positive changes in medical demographic indicators. According to the results of activities in 2017, the main health indicators were improved compared to the same period of the previous year: total mortality decreased by 3%, maternal by 1.6%, infant by 7.7%, mortality from circulatory system diseases by 1.8%, malignant neoplasms by 5.3% and tuberculosis by 11.8%. The overall life expectancy of Kazakhstanis increased by 0.7% (0.54 years), reaching 72.95 years, ”said E. Birtanov.
At the same time, as Yelzhan Birtanov noted in accordance with step 80 of the Nation's Plan “100 concrete steps”, it is envisaged that primary care will become a central element of national health care for the prevention and early control of diseases. In this regard, work is underway to improve primary health care.
