In Almaty, businessmen of Kazakhstan and Malaysia discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, ortcom.kz reports with reference to the MIA "Kazinform".

“The purpose of the visit is to increase awareness of Malaysian companies in the Kazakhstan market, search for potential partners in Kazakhstan and develop cooperation, in particular, increase export volumes from Malaysia to Kazakhstan, not only in the supply of goods, but also services,” said the senior director of the export development department and international trade (MATRADE) Muhammad Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

At the same time, he noted that there is an increase in trade turnover between the two countries. For example, in 2017 it grew by 60%, reaching more than 80 million dollars. He noted that the business of the two countries can cooperate in the areas of tourism, Islamic finance, education, digital economy.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Kazakhstan, Said Bakri, stressed that Malaysians now have an understanding of the potential of the Kazakhstan market. He also recalled that over 320 Malaysian companies came to participate in EXPO-2017.

In turn, the head of the office of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty, Nurlan Kabishtayev, acquainted the representatives of Malaysian business circles with the possibilities of doing business in Kazakhstan.

On October 30, the opening of the Kazakhstan-Malaysian business forum will take place in Almaty. His work is aimed at developing direct contacts and mutually beneficial cooperation between the business circles of both countries, creating a favorable climate for promoting the interests of Kazakhstan’s business in the Malaysian market and attracting investments from Malaysia to Kazakhstan.

The forum is organized by the Kazakh-Malaysian Business Council.
