Astana consumers will pay for electricity from 1.5 to 2 tenge lower than in 2018, Deputy Minister of Energy Sungat Yesimkhanov informed at a press conference in the CCS.

“We are all residents of Astana and for us this is relevant. If earlier the electricity tariff at the station was, for example, 7.5 tenge, now, taking into account the tariff we set, and the fact that Astanaenergosbyt supplying electricity buys this capacity from Astanaenergo in the market is 1.4 less than the cost production - somewhere around 6 tenge 10 tiyn. There is a decline for us, as for consumers of Astana. From 1.5 to 2 tenge lower, we will pay what we paid in 2018. Of course, you also need to consider transportation. At final cost, our colleagues from the KRMZK should have their say, ”said Sungat Yesimkhanov.

The vice minister assured the media that by the end of 2019, consumers would receive an electricity bill, for example: not “for 14, but for 12 with something”. Exact figures in the near future should be approved by the Committee on the Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights. And this, according to the Vice-Minister of Energy Sungat Yesimkhanov, will be a decline.
