The electric capacity market introduced from the new year will not affect the end-user "upward," Sungat Yesimkhanov, Deputy Energy Minister, explained at a press conference in the CCS.

“In general, the capacity market will not affect upwards. It is unique. The existing tariff is divided into two components. That tariff, which is today, is in accordance with the law divided into two. The electricity tariff is the cost and investment part, which is transferred to the capacity market system. According to the results of the auction, each station has sold its capacity and will have this investment part. In terms of tariff for the end user, this does not affect in any way.

The Vice-Minister of Energy assured that consumers, as they paid the energy supplying organizations for a kilowatt, would pay.

“Our supplier, represented by electricity supplying organizations, will buy power and electricity on the wholesale market, and there will be no growth for it,” said Sungat Yesimkhanov.

He also noted that half of the tariff reduction occurred, although not all 43 power plants experienced a decrease. Accordingly, the tariff reduction will be from those energy supplying organizations that buy electricity from these stations.
