The first to completely switch to digital broadcasting was the Mangystau region, where on October 22, 2018 the analog signal was cut off. In the region, 21 RTS were built and modernized, 48 settlements, with a population of 600 thousand people (about 99% of the population) were covered. There are 14 settlements in the region that are outside the coverage area of the Center for Social Development of Workers (total number of less than 5 thousand people) are 100% covered by satellite television.
In the area, 158 families need to get free set-top boxes. At this time, these families are fully provided with set-top boxes.
"At the same time, if additional needy families are identified in free boxes, all families will be provided. This issue is under the control of local executive bodies of the region," Rakhimov said.
In Zhambyl Oblast (transition November 26, 2018), the introduction of the infrastructure of CETTV was completed, 43 RTS were built and upgraded. More than 380 settlements covered more than 1 million people (99%). In six localities where CETI is absent, the percentage of satellite television penetration is more than 95%. In the Turkestan region (transition November 27, 2018), 80 RTS were built and modernized. 860 settlements with a population of more than 2.5 million people (98%) are covered.
Thus, the total number of people covered with access to TESET in all regions of Kazakhstan is more than 4.1 million people.
According to the regional akimat, 4106 families in the Turkestan region need prefixes, of which 3274 families are provided by sponsors and 485 families from the local budget.
