The mechanism for the development of influenza infection has a number of features, warned Kazakhstani Chief Sanitary Doctor of the country. During the press conference in the CCS, he spoke about effective measures to prevent seasonal disease, reports ortcom.kz.
“The first symptoms of influenza depend on the number of virus particles that enter the body, the state of the human immune system, such as a virus. The illness begins with an incubation period. From infection to the appearance of the first symptoms, it takes from several hours to several days (on average 2-4 days). Symptoms of the disease are growing very acutely, so the patient does not always accurately indicate the onset of the disease, ”said Gendarbek Bekshin.
He noted that it is necessary to remember about the symptoms requiring emergency care: the temperature is above 38-40 ° C, which lasts longer than 3-5 days, severe headaches (do not pass after taking painkillers), as well as shortness of breath, impairment of consciousness, convulsions , hemorrhagic skin rash.
According to Gendarbek Bekshin, besides vaccination against influenza, there are also non-specific measures for the prevention of both influenza and other influenza-like diseases (ARVI). Such as:
-
limiting the time of stay in crowded places;
-
the use of disposable masks in enclosed spaces and crowded places;
-
whenever possible, limit contact with people who have signs of illness, such as sneezing or coughing;
-
wash hands thoroughly and more often with soap and water, especially after street and public transport;
-
washing the nasal cavity with saline, especially after the street and public transport;
-
often air the room in which you are located;
-
regularly do wet cleaning in the room in which you are located;
-
moisten the air in the room in which you are located;
-
eat as much as possible of products containing vitamin C (cranberries, rosehips, sea buckthorn, currants, lemon, etc.);
-
on the recommendation of the doctor to use drugs and drugs that increase immunity.
The chief sanitary doctor of Kazakhstan recommends maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly.
