The referendum will be submitted to 1 question - the adoption of amendments to the Constitution. If the majority of the population in 11 cities votes "FOR", then the amendments will be considered adopted. If this indicator is not achieved, then the amendments will be considered rejected. This was stated by Vice Minister of Justice Alma Mukanova at a briefing in the CCS. She explained why exactly 11 cities.

“According to the law “On the Republican Referendum”, an issue is considered approved if the majority of the population in 2/3 of the regions (city of republican significance, the capital, regions) voted for it. Considering that now there are 17 regions in Kazakhstan (the Decree on the creation of 3 regions - Abay, Ulytau, Zhetysu will be put into effect from June 8 of this year), then 2/3 of these 17 regions is 11 regions. In this regard, the adoption of amendments to the Constitution will completely depend on the will of the people,” the speaker concluded.
