Against the backdrop of the current situation in the world, special attention during the Club meeting was paid to measures to attract investment, expand the representation of German companies in the region, minimize the negative effects of the crisis on economic development, and develop new approaches in the context of deepening economic partnership. The event was organized by the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Germany, JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" together with the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.

In his welcoming speech, R. Vassilenko informed about the main directions of political reforms set out in the Address "New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization", as well as the strategic initiatives of the country's leadership to improve the environment and expand the use of renewable energy sources, improve the investment climate, diversify and modernize Kazakh economy.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms Olzhas Tuleuov spoke about new approaches in economic policy aimed at ensuring the rule of law, promoting fair competition, economic freedom, macroeconomic stability, diversifying the economy, developing human capital and regions, as well as reforming government controlled.

The German speakers in their speeches noted the positive dynamics of the development of Kazakh-German cooperation, including through the "green" economy, the development of partnerships in agriculture, logistics and transport. According to businessmen, Kazakhstan has such attractive factors as diversified energy sources, logistics and significant natural resources. In addition, raw materials produced in Kazakhstan can be used in the process of digitalization and decarbonization of the German economy, increasing the stability of supplies of critical minerals to European countries.

During the event, the German side was also represented by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan Monika Iwersen, Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms, General Director for Northern and Eastern Europe "Deutsche Bank" Joerg Bongarz, Member of the Board of "Rhenus Logistics" Michael Vifers, Speaker for Central Asia of the German Agribusiness Alliance Dirk Stratmann and Member of the Management Board of EMAG Matthias Klein. From the Kazakh side, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Germany, Dauren Karipov, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Baiterek National Managing Holding , Nurbolat Aidapkelov, participated.

The event was also attended by about 70 representatives of government and business circles of Kazakhstan and Germany, including representatives of industry and regional business associations, heads of leading German companies, including Siemens, Rhenus Logistics, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Bank, SAP, Herrenknecht, EMAG, EOS, Knauf Gips, Linde, Svevind, AUGENTIC, etc.

During the panel discussion, its participants discussed the implementation of joint projects in high-tech sectors of the economy, the exchange of experience and training of specialists, as well as solutions and challenges in the light of the geopolitical situation in Europe.
