The Greek MP accepted the invitation with gratitude and welcomed the contribution of Kazakhstan to the development of interreligious dialogue. In this context, M. Harakopoulos noted the successful experience of fruitful cooperation with Kazakhstan within the framework of holding the 14th session of the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy on June 20-23, 2007 in Astana.
In addition, the parliamentarian spoke warmly about his visit to Kazakhstan as part of a delegation of Greek deputies to participate in the OSCE Summit in 2010. As chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice of the Greek Parliament, M. Harakopoulos showed interest in the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan in the political and socio-economic spheres.
In turn, E. Baudarbek-Kozhatayev informed about the holding of a republican referendum on June 5, 2022 on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of Kazakhstan, noting the importance of an extensive package of reforms submitted for popular vote as one of the key stages in building the "New Kazakhstan".
