What kind of New Year's table can be considered safe, told The Chairman of the Public Health Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Central Communications Service.

 “While composing the New Year's menu 2019, many housewives are concerned about making the table“ bursting ”with snacks that lose their common sense. Salads, smoked meats and pickles impregnated with fat mayonnaise, several kinds of strong drinks are traditional attributes of the New Year's feast. Only here, the first day of the New Year after such drinks is rather difficult, and for those who are not particularly lucky it ends in a hospital. Exacerbations of chronic gastritis, ulcers, inflammation of the pancreas, and sometimes poisoning - the price paid for the irrepressible appetite on New Year's Eve, ”said Gendarbek Bekshin.

To avoid such consequences and stay healthy after the holiday, the country's chief medical officer shared his advice.

As Gendarbek Bekshin emphasized, it is recommended to purchase products at high-traffic trade sites, while paying attention to the shelf life and sales of products, the appearance and the presence of foreign odors.

“Be especially attentive with the goods sold by the stock and home-made products. If there are any doubts about the quality and origin of food, it is better not to purchase goods, ”said the speaker.

According to the speaker, one of the important rules of nutrition for the New Year is to eat more often, but in smaller portions.

“Dishes on the New Year’s table should not only be tasty, but also useful, so you should still dilute the menu of meat-heavy salads for the stomach, light salads from vegetables — red and green pepper, with the addition of light white chicken meat, fish, and canned beans and various greens, seasoned with light olive oil, will bring many benefits: decorate your table, relieve the diet of the New Year's Eve and be sure to please everyone present, ”he said.

In addition, the health doctor noticed that there is no urgent need to keep all the food on New Year's Eve on the table.

“The best option is to leave the bulk of the food in the fridge right from the start, gradually putting it into the salad bowls as they become empty,” he added.

It should also be remembered that the shelf life of salads in the refrigerator should be no more than a day, and it is advisable to store seasoned mayonnaise for no more than 6 hours.

“There should be enough liquid on the New Year's table. Most importantly, drink more water. Remember: alcohol dehydrates the body. And most importantly, buy alcoholic beverages in proven trade organizations. Limit the consumption of sweet sparkling water - you already consume enough sugars during a festive dinner, ”the speaker noted.

Fruits are the perfect product for any occasion. “Feel free to put vases with tangerines, bananas, apples and grapes on the table,” Bekshin called.
