Mobile diagnostic complex for three years diagnosed more than 79 thousand km of track. More than 899 rail breaks are prevented.
“On our backbone networks, removable and mobile diagnostic tools are used to diagnose the path. Due to the complex diagnostics of the path, dangerous faults, defects of railway track components and further transition to repair according to the actual condition of the path are identified in a timely manner, ”said Aslan Akashov, director of the KTZ branch of JSC NC KTZh, Diagnostics Center.
According to the speaker, over 900 thousand km of railways and welded rail joints are checked annually on the railway network of JSC NC KTZh. The frequency of control is from 2 to 6 times a month. According to the results of control, dangerous defects and retreats are identified.
In order to modernize the rail diagnostics tools in January 2015, a mobile diagnostic complex (MDC) was developed and put into trial operation. Through the use of a modern laser system for measuring the geometrical parameters of a rail track and automating the processing and formation of reporting forms, it was possible to combine two independent diagnostic equipment - flaw detection and track measurement equipment.
“The operation of the MDK not only ensures the safety of train traffic, but also brings savings by reducing costs by two times for locomotive traction and maintenance of the carriage part, as well as an increase in labor productivity by 22%,” A. Akashov said.
Additional measurement parameters of MDC allow for a full-fledged analysis to determine the true cause of the appearance of defects in railway track components and the further planning of repair work according to its actual condition.
“For three years of trial operation of the complex, more than 79 thousand km of track have been diagnosed. More than 899 rail breaks have been prevented, ”A.Akashov said.
Taking into account the results, it was decided to replicate the project of the automated control system “Magistral” in the traveling facilities of the branch of JSC “NC“ KTZh ”-“ Direction of the backbone network ”.
The project “Introduction of mobile diagnostic tools within the framework of the automated control system“ Magistral ”is aimed at ensuring traffic safety, timely detection of track malfunctions and defects in the rails, as well as conducting comprehensive diagnostics of the railway track for switching to repairs according to the actual condition of the track.
